SUICIDE PREVENTION AWARENESS MONTH
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, an opportunity to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and remind students that help is available. On Thursday, September 3rd, the Pilot Point Middle School Counseling Department will welcome the Grant Halliburton Foundation to campus for a student prevention lesson focused on suicide prevention and depression. The lesson is designed to provide age-appropriate information, help students recognize warning signs, encourage help-seeking, and connect students with trusted adults and resources.

Senate Bill 12 & Parent Consent
As part of the 2026–27 registration process, parents/guardians were provided the opportunity to review and provide consent for counseling-related prevention lessons, including this presentation, in accordance with Senate Bill 12 (SB 12). Students whose parents/guardians provided consent will participate in the September 3rd lesson.
Parents who would like additional information about the presentation are encouraged to contact Kenya Davis by email. Additionally, we are also working on parent education and resources related to suicide prevention and student mental health. More information will be shared with families soon.
